I found it difficult to leave the gardens of delights, every inch is rich in perennial plantings and flowering trees. The planning of the gardens allows for complete privacy. The owners have graciously offered their time to inform the new owners of all the names and characteristics of the plantings. Only decades of care and knowledge could produce such gardens.
Here is one of the works of art that convey with this home, as seen on the wood floor in the family room. 12 x 13.5 . A Fisher woodstove with catalytic combustor and stainless steel chimney liner was fired up in a heart beat and we were able to enjoy the ambiance and comfort it provided. There is a heat pump as well, yet this stove is designed to heat the entire house.
After spending three hours viewing this home and gardens, I now have the courage to be more colorful. It all felt so comfortable and cheery. Plus the painting is so meticulous applied.
The sitting room 12 x 20 has long true light widows on three walls and a built in library on the other. Well cared for wood floors and painted trim set the stage for this most intriguing home.
The artist/owner has agreed to sign all his works of art that are coveying with the home.
We are back in the family room where the eye is captured is a most pleasant way.
From this dining room with adjacent winter porch you'll be able to see the gardens as well as the charming wood stove. While I was offered wine or tea actually I was afraid to accept for I was so comfortable and entertained by the surroundings I thought I might never leave.
This door leads to the winter porch from the dining room. It's as if the artist themselves planned every part of the lighting, yet not possible since the house was built many years before their births. There is just the right amount of light and views to compliment the rooms as well as the art work.
Here we have the kitchen fireplace, such a lovely spot to enjoy a cupper. The kitchen is 13 x 11 with adjacent walk in pantry and a built in pie safe and a row of handcrafted cabinetry. While the house appears modest at first it doesn't take long to realize that it is a home of true quality and efficiency.
Here is the built in pie safe that has been painted in an historical manner. The wall above the JenAir downdraft stove is lined with tile. The kitchen window overlooks the gardens, fish pond and tiered decks.
All the doors in the house are solid wood and each in its own right is special. Also a closer look at the pie safe.
. Here is the master bath on the first floor. Even going to the loo is a joy in this house.
While this room is being used as a studio and is 26 x 14.5, it was also designed to be converted into a master suite with the adjacent master bath. The room has central heat and air although the pitch of the room and the proper location of the windows allows the room to be very efficient.
Here is one of the second floor bedrooms which it separated by the other bedrooms by a center hall. Presently the room is being used as the library and is 13 x 11.5.
The 2nd floor bedroom is being used as the Master with its double closets and is 19.5 x 13.
.The property is a deep L shape with paths through the gardens, here is another garden shed. Unfortunally my photo does not reveal the charm of this little building.
.A detail view of the garden shed with it bric-a-brac and well maintained woodwork.

. The shady grounds have just enough light to allow the grounds to be very prolific.
The tiered decks with the fish pond can be seen through most of the rooms. You'll just want to have a seat and enough the extremenly peaceful location.
