This is the view from Bailey's Mill Pond. Notice that the house is high on a hill. The house actually has a basement that is dry, a rare occurrence on the shore. The house has a number of large storage spaces that you will never find unless I tell you where they are.
The kitchen is 15' X 17' with an open floor plan and wonderful view from the sink. The counters are thick walnut and there are 14 custom built pine cabinets. Also a stainless steel dishwasher, stove with exhaust hood and double sinks making working here a lot of fun.
Note the exposed beams in the ceiling.
No house is complete without a pantry. This is where the washer/dryer hookup is and the dryer. There is another freezer in here too. The deep, double sink is a great place to scale the fish you catch in the back yard and for that extra touch before using the washing machine.
More walnut. A very handsome build-in corner cabinet.
Here we are looking toward the front of the house and the front porch.
A wood burning fireplace has all the accoutrements included and makes for cozy times.
3 things here to see. The beautiful, beautiful aged pine floors add certain warmth to this home. These wonderful big doors let in all the glory of the great outdoors. And last - don't let the fact that the house is surrounded by porches escape you.
This spacious bedroom, 17' X 18' has large cedar closet, its own bathroom with a marble floor, now let's see the private porch
You can walk right out of your bedroom with a hot cup of coffee in the morning and see deer, rabbits, fox, bluebirds, quail, woodpeckers, bald eagles, ducks, owls, geese, chickadees, and much, much more.
Meet Jane. She sleeps in the master bedroom too, naturally.
Pretty crummy picture but you can see the vaulted ceiling and the fireplace from upstairs
The upstairs bedroom has its own large bathroom too, another cedar closet and sitting room. It measures 10.5' X 15'.
Charming little apartment for the Carolina Wrens who come back every year.
You'll have to come yourselves and see who lives here.
